How to Make Easy Shakshuka
-
Sauté the vegetables
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent. Add the red bell pepper and cook for 3–4 minutes. -
Build the sauce
Stir in the garlic, cumin, and paprika. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add crushed tomatoes and Mamita Hot Sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. -
Add the eggs
Make small wells in the sauce and gently crack the eggs into each one. Cover the pan and cook until the egg whites are set but the yolks are still soft (or cook longer if you prefer firmer eggs). -
Finish and serve
Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and add feta if using. Serve warm with crusty bread or pita.
Why Mamita Hot Sauce Works So Well in Shakshuka
Mamita Hot Sauce adds depth, warmth, and balanced heat, making it the perfect hot sauce for shakshuka without overpowering the tomatoes. Its habanero, turmeric-based blend pairs beautifully with spices.
